What you can see

For most visitors the main interest will be Venice. It takes 10 minutes to drive to Mogliano railway station which has free twenty-four hour parking. There are frequent trains to Venice centre with a 20 minutes travel time into the city.

The house is also a good starting point to visit Treviso and Padova with many fine medieval buildings and churches. Treviso is cozy and quiet; Padova has the Santo Basilica, Giotto's frescoes of Scrovegni, the Palazzo della Ragione and shopping arcades dating back to 12th century. The arcades host a wide variety of shops selling sweets, shoes, jewels, bags …

Within a day's drive there are quite a few walled cities and venetian villas—Google Cittadella, Montagnana, Villa Pisani Strà, Riviera del Brenta to learn more about these options. In a couple of hours drive you can also reach Lake Garda, Verona (the setting for Romeo & Juliete's), The Dolomites, as well as Jesolo and The Caorle coast.

There are two excellent Golf Clubs nearby: Golf Club Ca' della Nave in Martellago and Villa Condulmer in Mogliano. A Swimming pool, tennis court and riding centres are also a few minutes away. We will be happy to help you plan day-visits to places of interest.
We called it "la Gattessa," since we share the house with our beloved cats, and we feel that the oldest one (gatta), who has the demeanor of a duchess, (duchessa), is the real owner of the area.
